From May to July, Magelang holds several annual cultural festivals.
These festivals include; Grebek Gethuk and Cultural Carnival held to commemorate the anniversary of Magelang City, Candimulyo Durian Festival with a mountain icon of durian as a form of gratitude for the Candimulyo community for blessings, there is also the Five Mountain Festival, a festival held by five mountains around Magelang, namely Merapi, Merbabu, Andong, Cleft and Menoreh.
